Thermal Radar Sentry Tower

Off-grid solar towers for 360° thermal detection, engineered in the UAE and deployed across the GCC.

About the project

Running a 360° thermal sentry with no grid, in 55 °C sun.

Thermal Radar, a US developer of 360° thermal detection, needed towers for a large internet retailer's data centre sites across the GCC. Regional security conditions meant local design, manufacture and support. Each tower runs the sensor, the PTZ camera it cues and their platform, off grid. Nobody had measured what it all drew.

What we built: One tower, from the sensor down.

Detect

Thermal Radar's sensor turns through 360° and picks up heat. One tower covers up to about 200 acres, depending on the site.

Verify

Their platform cues a PTZ camera onto every detection, for a visual check.

Charge

Two solar modules in series feed a native 48 V system. No grid connection.

Store

A lithium-ion bank sized for three days without sun. We tested it: three days on battery alone.

Power

We upgraded the power electronics with Thermal Radar and added telemetry. They now see exactly what the system draws.

Deploy

More than 20 built at our facility in the UAE, each on a 6 m mast. Our team installs and commissions them on site.
